As lockdown continues to ease across the USA more people are traveling within the states again and many of them will be bringing their dogs with them.
While traveling with a dog is a bit different and sometimes more challenging (but worth it) than traveling on your own, there are some apps out there that can help make it easier.
Travel news site Peter Greenberg Worldwide put together a small list of useful apps for when you travel with your dog.
- Bring Fido. This app, just like the website, is a pet friendly hotels and dog travel directory. The app, along with the website, connects millions of pet parents around the globe with more than 250,000 pet friendly places. It also includes a database of pup-approved restaurants, dog parks, hiking trails and shopping destinations. Furthermore, it has a directory of licensed veterinarians, sitters, and groomers which is handy for those who are on the road with their dog.
-
Dog Park Pal. The Dog Park Pal app (link goes to Apple apps store) works as a guide that helps you sniff out the closest dogs parks, and shows you some of the things to look for to make sure that your dog, and his/her playmates are having a good and safe time. The app also features safety ideas to implement while you visit the park and includes a guide on play body language in dogs and what it looks like, stress body language in dogs and what it looks like, different types of play styles and appropriate vs. inappropriate play.
- Pet First Aid: American Red Cross. The Pet First Aid app, (link goes to Google Play store) by the American Red Cross app puts veterinary advice for everyday emergencies in the palm of your hand. The app has tons of features including videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice as well as an early warning sign checker for preventive care, veterinary contact information, first aid steps, ‘how to’ videos for common and stressful emergencies and more. You can also locate your nearest emergency vet hospital or pet-friendly hotels.

These are valuable apps to have while traveling with your pet.
Another app, for those single users with pets, was launched recently. For those who travel around with their dog, the app could be a great way to meet someone, and maybe even find love.
4. Dig. Dig, the dog person’s dating app, was built to connect dog people based on what’s most    important to dog lovers. The app includes dog friendly location suggestions such as parks, bars and restaurants. The app also features daily dog friendly deals and dog friendly tips.
